Why create product samples?

You have an idea, it looks great on paper, but when it’s made, sometimes it does not look quite how you had imagined. This is why it is essential to spend time getting things right in the product samples phase. By making a few samples first, before going into full scale production, you can get to hold and test the product before placing larger orders.

When creating samples, we will help communicate your ideas to the manufacturer, and conduct inspections and reviews during the process. Once finished, we will keep one sample here and send one to you. In this way, we both know what you are referring to if there are any changes.

Once the product samples have been tweaked to meet your requirements, you can place orders, knowing that we are holding a correct master sample. This master sample will be used as a standard to check all future orders against, thus guaranteeing you will receive the correct product every time.

As most of the products are made by hand, and not churned out in machine operated factories, there will therefore be some variations, but these will be fairly minor, and are part of the appeal of the hand made quality.

How it works

The process of making product samples starts with your idea. You need to convey this idea to us, and send us drawings and clear instructions. You may have a very clear idea of what you want, or require guidance. We are happy to give our advice on suggested materials, textures and sizes.

Our team of experts will help you develop your idea in to a reality. We understand what sells and what doesn’t, as well as what the manufacturers are capable of. We will help communicate your ideas to the producers, and make regular checks on the sample making process.

We will send photographs of the samples in various stages of production, and you can make changes as we go along. We will continue to work with you until the finished product samples meet your requirements, and you feel happy with them.

What comes next?

Once the final product samples are made, and approved, the next phase is creating a bill of material of what was used to create that sample. This helps us to know what is needed when placing orders. If various suppliers were used for materials, this needs to be noted and taken in to account when compiling orders.

Orders can be placed via email, and we will pass them on to the manufacturers. We will provide an estimated shipping schedule at the time of ordering, and keep you updated as the order progresses.
